Softball Grabs Two Wins Over Antelope Valley

Bakersfield, CA – Renegade Softball grabbed two victories today at home over Antelope Valley in their first Western State Conference (WSC) competitions of the Spring II season, winning 4-2 and 12-6.

In game one, the Renegades brought two runs home in the bottom of the first to gain a quick momentum. They added one in the fourth and one in the fifth to add to the lead. It wasn't until the last two innings of the game that the Marauders put points on the board, but by then it was too late. Trinity Ybarra pitched all seven innings for BC, collecting one strikeout.

In game two, BC once again established early momentum bringing seven runs across in the bottom of the first. From that point the Marauders struggled to keep up as the Renegades slowly mounted more runs throughout the game. Arianna Gutierrez started the game on the rubber for BC and went all seven innings with three total strikeouts.

With the two victories, the Renegades improve to 3-5 on the season and will now play at Antelope Valley this coming Saturday (5/1) for another doubleheader. First pitch will be at 12:00pm.
