Comets get one over Olympians

SAN MARCOS, CA (3/29/2023) -- Palomar College and San Diego Mesa College met up at a neutral court to play their second match of the conference schedule and Mesa won 3-1. They took the first two sets 25-19 and 25-14, but the Comets came to life in the third set adn won 26-24 to force the fourth set, but Mesa overpowered the Comets 25-15 and took the match.

Freshman Tyler Yraceburn led the team with 16 kills and four aces. Sophomore Peter-Kalani Suiaunoa finished the night with 12 kills and two blocks. Sophomore libero Jared Alegado finished with 10 digs and freshman setter Jacob Rangel ended the night with 30 assists. 

Palomar is now 2-11 overall and 1-4 in conference play. They will head to San Diego Miramar College on Wednesday and Grossmont College on Friday. Both matches are scheduled for 6 p.m.
