EL CAJON — The Grossmont College soccer team played well, but between the 109-degree heat on the pitch and the Citrus Owls, it was too much as they dropped a 3-0 line in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.

The match was knotted up at nil at the break, but by the time the match ended at the 64:31 mark due to the heat, Citrus had netted three goals.

The ladies will open Pacific Coast Athletic Conference action next Tuesday as they host Mira Costa at 1:00 on the Griffin Turf. The forecast is for a much more pleasant (and San Diego) 84 degrees.
