Bobcats off to hot start

The Saddleback women's soccer team cruised to an 8-0 win against MiraCosta College on Friday afternoon inside the stadium.  The Bobcats have now outscored opponents 15-0 through two games.

Saddleback wasted no time in jumping out to a lead on Friday, scoring twice in the first three minutes for a 2-0 lead.  Kylie Beu scored in the second minute of the game off a pass from Lizbeth De Loera and then scored again in the fourth minute as the Bobcats pressured the Spartans from the start.

Saddleback added another goal late in the half when Maliyah Medley tallied her fifth goal of the season in the 43rd minute off a pass from Beu to take a commanding lead into the locker room.

Saddleback was nearly impenetrable on defense, surrendering only four shots total for the day and only two on goal.  The Bobcats added five more goals in the second half as Emma Snow (62'), Eva Bishop (72'), Nadia Amin (79' and 81') and Beu (85', pk) all found the back of the net.

Saddleback's second straight shutout to start the season marked the sixth straight season that Saddleback has opened with two straight shutouts.  The 15 goals scored is the highest total for any two games to start the season in program history.

Saddleback (2-0-0) will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Mt. San Jacinto College (1-2-0) at 6:00 PM.
