Rams postseason run ends with third-round loss at Sequoias

VISALIA – A promising City College of San Francisco women's basketball season came to an unfortunately close. On Saturday, the sixth-seeded Rams suffered a 72-56 loss at No. 3 College of the Sequoias in Round 3 of the Northern California Regional Playoffs.

For the second consecutive season, the Rams' season ended against COS in the regional finals, just one game away from reaching the state championships.

CCSF fell behind 9-2 to open the contest and was never able to get in front of the Giants. The Rams trailed 29-23 at halftime and were down 50-42 heading into the final period.

Sophomore Talo Li-Uperesa posted a double-double in her final game in a CCSF uniform. She had game-highs of 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Rams.

Teuila Tuiasosopo had a big-game off the bench with 16 points and 10 boards while Amira Lama tallied 7 points and 4 rebounds.

CCSF had won 16 straight games heading into tonight's playoff matchup. The Rams close out another successful season under head coach Derek Lau with a 24-5 overall record. San Francisco recently wrapped up its seventh consecutive Coast Conference North Division championship with a perfect 10-0 mark.
