W. VOLLEYBALL: ANOTHER CLOSE LOSS

Fullerton hosted San Diego Mesa College on Tuesday night and lost another close one 3-2.

The loss marks the Hornet's fourth straight and third that went to five games.

In first, set Fullerton gave away a 14-8 lead for which the Olympians took advantage winning it 25-19. The second set saw the Hornets open up with a 5-2 lead. Midway through, FC was hanging onto a 16-15 advantage and managed to hang on for a 22-25 win. In the third, Mesa ran the table hammering the Hornets with a 22-10 lead and would eventually win the set 25-18. The fourth was an exciting battle that went the distance with the Olympians taking it 27-25. The fifth and final set went back-and-forth with both teams fighting for position. Knotted up at 10 apiece, Mesa quickly grabbed a 12-10 advantage. Fullerton rallied back to tie it up 13-13, but the Olympians finished it off 15-13.

McKenna Mokry led FC in kills with 11 on the night. She also added 11 digs. Faith Webb brought down 5 kills with 14 digs, while Hannah Tobin scooped up 16 digs. Alicia Isa Domingo chipped in with 15 assists and 8 digs.

Up Next: The Hornets (6-5 overall) will open Orange Empire Conference-play this Friday, September 17th when travel to Orange Coast College. Match time is at 6:00 pm.
