The West Valley beach volleyball team completed the finest regular season in program history with a 5-0 sweep of the College of San Mateo Friday in Santa Cruz. The Vikings finished 8-3, 5-3 in the Coast Conference in the third year of the team's existence. Claire Danna and Kristen Hayes (4's), and Emily Mahoney and Lizhya Shoomoonof (5's) started the match with forfeit wins against the first-year Bulldogs. Viking 3's Hunter Roberts and Katrina Hochmuth took care of CSM's Teja Evans and Mona Moala 21-14, 21-8, 2's Morgan Wright and Kaylin Henderson swept Mele Fine and Briana Teller 21-11, 21-15, and Mapuhola Sekona and Emma Blockhus overwhelmed Sarah Weaver and Malia Koloamatangi 21-7, 21-7 in the 1's. West Valley hosts the Coast Conference Pairs Championships April 27, the CCCAA NorCal Championships May 3-4, and the CCCAA State Championships May 10-11.
