The Knights looked as though they had turned their season around after going 3-1-1 to start October, but have struggled since that stretch and have now dropped three straight after a 2-1 home loss to Southwestern on Friday.
City is now 3-11-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the PCAC with four games remaining in the season.
The Knights put a lot of pressure on Southwestern early in the game and earned six first half corner kicks, but weren't able to capitalize. In the 41st minute, however, Mustsafa Ndume found a Medina along the right side with a 20-yard pass and Medina put it past Southwestern's keeper to give City a 1-0 lead.
Southwestern did not take long to come up with an answer as Santiago Cabrera knocked in the equalizer in the 51st minute. That goal changed the momentum of the game and Southwestern became the aggressors on offense as the Jaguars went looking for the game-winner.
City's defense held strong for most of the half and it appeared as though the game was headed towards a draw, but Southwestern finally got the go-ahead goal in the 84th minute. City goalkeeper Robert Fonseca saved a shot from Qais Baker, but Baker recovered the loose ball and put in the rebound.
The Knights tried to mount a response of their own, but managed to get only one more shot the rest of the game.
They will be at home again on Tuesday, Nov. 2 against Mesa at 3:30 p.m.
