SBCC powers past WEST in the season opener, 11-2

West LA opened its 2020 baseball campaign at home against Santa Barbara.
Braydon Williams got the nod in the first game of the season for WEST. After
a scoreless 1st, the Vaqueros broke out for a seven run 2nd and a another four
runs in the third.

in the bottom of the fifth, Anthony Angel (Venice) tripled to right field. Angel 
would score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of freshman Will Barth (North Torrance).
Neither team would score until the WEST 7th inning. After back to back singles by 
Julian Huerta (New Design Charter) and Angel, both their second of the day,
the 'Cats had a man in scoring position. Jacob Kale (Culver City) grounded out to 
second scoring Huerta.

Both teams would finish the fnal two innings scoreless and Santa Barbara would 
take home the 11-2 victory. The teams will meet again tomorrow at SBCC for game
two of the home and home. Game time is 2 pm.
