Frank has season-high against Fullerton

The Saddleback women's basketball team lost at Fullerton College, 79-38, on Wednesday night in Fullerton.  Saddleback's Je Lise Frank recorded a season-high in rebounds while the team welcomed back another player.

Saddleback forward Je Lise Frank had a career night on Wednesday when she hauled in 18 rebounds against a Fullerton program that stands at 11-6 overall and 3-0 in Orange Empire Conference play.  It easily eclipsed a previous high of 12 against Santa Ana last week.  Frank has now reached double-digits in the past three games and currently leads the OEC in rebounding in conference play with 13.7 rebounds-per-game.

Saddleback also welcomed back Carina Rubalcaba, who hasn't played since late November.  Rubalcaba was on the women's soccer team during the fall and led the Gauchos on Wednesday night with 13 points.

Saddleback fell behind early and never recovered against a Fullerton squad that currently sits atop the Orange Empire Conference standings.  The Gauchos trailed 8-6 in the opening quarter when Fullerton went on a 12-3 run to close out the quarter.  Saddleback couldn't stop the Hornet offensive attack as Fullerton made 7-of-13 from three-point range in the win.  Hannah Jones led the Hornets with 21 points.

Saddleback will host Cypress College on Friday night at 5:00 PM.
