City Picks Up First Win of '23
The Knights were back on the courts on Wednesday and split a pair of matches at Long Beach City College. They lost to the hosts, 5-0, but picked up their first win of the new season, 3-2, over Miramar.
The Knights were back on the courts on Wednesday and split a pair of matches at Long Beach City College. They lost to the hosts, 5-0, but picked up their first win of the new season, 3-2, over Miramar.
The Knights dropped the 1's and 2's matches against Miramar, but the 3's team of Sydney Bishop and Sarah Cashman rallied back to win their match (16-21, 24-22, 15-12) after losing the first set. The 4's team of Leah Reid and Haniel McKee also lost their opening set, but came back to win in three (14-21, 21-11, 15-13).
Esperanza Alcantar and Samantha Hernandez won their 5's match, 21-17 and 21-16, to clinch the Knights first victory of 2023.
The Knights will play on back-to-back days next week when they face Saint Katherine and Ottawa at Frazee Beach in Carlsbad on Thursday, March 2 beginning at 9 a.m. They will then play Rio Hondo and Long Beach at Miramar College on Friday, also at 9 a.m.
