Glendale blanked SBCC 9-0 for the second time this year on Thursday in a WSC match at Pershing Park.
The Glendale Vaqueros (the teams share the same nickname) swept all six singles matches and lost just 18 games. Adolfo Ortega had the closest scores at No. 3 singles, losing to Arin Meserkhani 7-5, 6-2. The hometown Vaqueros were without their No. 1 player, Emerson Sekban, who missed the match with an injury.
Second-place Glendale improved to 9-3 and 5-2. SBCC is 5-9 and 3-5.
The Santa Barbara Vaqueros will play two matches in the San Diego area, taking on Palomar on Friday at 2 p.m. and San Diego Mesa on Saturday at noon.
