The Grossmont College Griffin's got the game moving in the first inning with shortstop Jazmine Gomez singling into right field. Kelly Olson drove in Gomez with her triple to center field, which started the Griffins momentum.

Schmehr singled to left field on a slap scoring Clippinger from third. Medlin is caught rounding third too far on Schmehr's hit, and is thrown out by the Owls left fielder to end the inning.
Owls scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Griffins lead 9-6 going into the 7th, but neither the Griffins nor the Owls scored in the 7th ending the game.
