Knights Fall to Grossmont and MiraCosta in Last PCAC Matches
San Diego City's women's beach volleyball team concluded the PCAC season with losses to Grossmont and MiraCosta on Friday at Warm Waters Beach in Carlsbad. The Knights finished with a 2-8 record in the conference and went 6-12 overall.

In the first match of the day against Grossmont, the 3s pair of Charisma Saymo and Jadian Dilg earned a 3-set victory over Madison Tromel/Joanna Vertigo Del-Real (15-21, 21-16, 15-13) in what turned out to be the Knights only win over the Griffins.
City's No. 1 pair of Alina and Alyssa Fletes fell to Alexcis Morris/Madison Bogle, 20-22 and 14-21. At the 2s, Kally Novell and Ashley Davies lost in a tough 3-set battle to Kortney Kitt and Brooklyn Anderson (14-21, 22-20, 9-15).
Faith Patterson and Jillian Geenen lost to Grossmont's Francesca Stoup/Tatiana Taylor, 20-22 and 15-21, at No. 4s, and the duo of Veronica Allen/Ryla Manalang were defeated, 9-21 and 6-21, to Grossmont's No. 5 team of Rylee Suggett/Alyssa McFarlin.
The Fletes sisters responded to their earlier loss by earning a 21-19 and 21-17 victory over MiraCosta's 1s team of Elle Harrity/Cameron Martinez.
City's 2s pair of Norvell and Davis fought hard to force a third set against Aria Barker/Paola Peralta, but fell a little short and lost, 11-21 and 21-23.
Saymo and Dilg, however, were the only San Diego City duo to get two wins on the day after getting past MiraCosta's 3s pair of Savannah So'oto/Jackie Gracey in three sets (13-21, 23-21, 17-15).
The No. 4 and 5 pairs of Patterson/Geenen and Allen/Manalang both fell in straight sets.
The PCAC pairs championship is next on the schedule for the Knights. It will be held at Grossmont College on Wednesday, April 27 and Friday, April 29 beginning at 9 a.m.
