Moorpark showed why it's ranked No. 2 in the state on Wednesday as the Raiders displayed the state's top-scoring offense in a 103-58 women's basketball win over SBCC at the Sports Pavlion.

The Raiders (24-1, 7-0) won for the 16th straight time. They're averaging 85.1 points and reached the century mark for the seventh time this season. Moorpark has already clinched its second straight WSC North title.

Britt Van Buren paced the Raiders with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Lupita Rocha added 22 points and seven rebounds while shooting 8-15 from the floor and 4-10 from 3-point country. Bree Calhoun had 14 points, 12 assists, six rebounds and six steals off the bench.

Sophia Torres led the Vaqueros (14-8, 2-5) with 12 points and Jordan Parkhurst, Jada Forsdick-Stevenson and Hannah Sabin all scored nine.

Moorpark outshot the Vaqueros 55.0% to 35.3% and outrebounded them 52-33. They won the second quarter 29-11 to build a 54-29 halftime lead. Santa Barbara committed 17 of its 23 turnovers in the first half.

The visitors opened the third period on a 14-3 run and took a 35-point lead (68-33) on a layup by Van Buren with 3:02 to go.

"They're the No. 2 team in the state and we did some good things," said Vaquero coach Sandrine Krul. "The score doesn't diminish that fact. We had all nine players battling every minute.

"You can't make mistakes against them because they'll capitalize. Now, we get ready for Hancock on Friday."

The Vaqueros' 23 turnovers led to 32 points for Moorpark.

SBCC will play its final regular-season game on Friday at Hancock, starting at 5 p.m.
