GLADIATORS TAKE TWO OF THREE ON DIAMOND

The Chabot baseball team won two of three games in the Coast-Golden Gate this past week, including two high-scoring wins over City College of San Francisco, 13-7 and 15-0, along with an 8-4 loss to College of San Mateo on April 13.
Chabot's Cole Coffey enters the week tied for No. 1 in the conference in RBIs with 45, and Gerald Nervis is No. 5 in the conference with 32 RBIs. Nervis has seven home runs to stand No. 2 in the Golden Gate and catcher Russell Stevenson is tied for third with six. Jake Simons is No. 2 in the conference in stolen bases with 15.
Chabot (15-19, 9-6) enters the week two games behind conference co-leaders Mission and CSM, both 11-4, and a game behind West Valley, at 10-5, in the tightly bunched conference.
In the 13-7 win over CCSF, Coffey belted a two-run home run and was 3 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Stevenson had two doubles and three runs scored.
Leadoff Jake Simons had a monster game in the 15-0 win with two three-run blasts and Coffey also had a three-run shot, going 4 for 5 with four RBIs. Caleb Millikan was 3 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Chabot amassed 14 hits in the blowout.
In the loss to CSM, Chabot responded to a five-run Bulldogs rally in the fifth inning with three in the bottom of the frame to make the game tight. Simons was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Trevor Contier also had two hits and Millikan had two hits, an RBI and a run scored.
