Again? Falcons eliminate Delta on bases-loaded walk to advance to State Championships!

Don't stop here if you think you've heard this before.  The Folsom Lake baseball team won their best-of-three series against Delta on Saturday with a ninth-inning bases-loaded walk, the second game in as many days that they won that way.  The difference this time was the Falcons were not the home team so Delta still had three outs to try to tie or win the game.  Closer Cole Tremain made sure there were no Mustang heroes this time as he worked around a one-out single to retire the side and earn the save.  The Falcons' ninth inning rally started with a one-out double by Drake Digiorno and an intentional walk to Tremain.  After a sacrifice bunt moved the runners to second and third, Bryce Petrilla walked to load the bases.  Wyatt Reginato then drew the the third walk of the inning to force in the winning run.

Not to be overlooked is starter Gavin Ochoa's stellar start.  Ochoa pitched seven innings and allowed just two earned runs before leaving with the score tied 3-3.  Carson Szeder then pitched a clean eighth to get the win.

The Falcons' winning streak is now at 16 games with their last loss being way back on April 9.  They'll take that streak into the State Championship Tournament at Folsom Lake College on Saturday when they put their 38-6-1 record on the line against Riverside (35-12) at 6:00 pm.
