Porterville closes out season with 63-48 loss to Reedley

A frustrating 2019-20 women's basketball season came to end for Porterville College following its 63-48 loss to visiting Reedley College on Friday.

The Pirates wrapped up the season with a 4-24 overall record and a 2-10 mark in Central Valley Conference play to finish in sixth place in the final standings.

Prior to the contest, the PC women's basketball program honored and thanked its five sophomores that played in their final game – Sisi Cruz, Breyanna Hernandez, Jordan Keene, Ashley Campos, and Alennie Castellanos.

The game got off to a rough start for the Pirates as they fell behind 21-14 after the first quarter and were down 38-25 at halftime.

Castellanos led the sophomore squad with 9 points while Keene totaled 6 points and a team-high 9 rebounds. Off the bench, Andrea Jeronimo led the Pirates with 12 points and Marina Marin added 11 points.
