The West Valley beach volleyball team took two matches from visiting Feather River Friday in a battle of two of the top programs in the state. The Vikings held off the Golden Eagles 3-2 in the hard-fought first match and then rolled to a 4-1 match two win.

Taylor Tullo and Katie Kishton, the WVC 1's pair, captured both of their matches on the day, but it wasn't easy. In their opener, Tullo/Kishton dropped set one to Madi Gray and Taylor O'Reilly 21-19. They came all the way back to take the match with a 21-15, 15-10 reverse sweep. They were paired against Gray and Mattea Wilson in the afternoon match and, after cruising to a 21-9 win in set one, escaped with a 22-20 victory in the second.

In match two, WVC 2's Alina Valenti and Elia Dueñas swept O'Reilly and Sydney Gott 21-19, 21-10, while WVC's Della Trimble/Camdyn Albrecht rallied for a 18-21, 21-14, 15-6 win over Madi Trueblood/Maddi Steele. Vikings Keilli Voss/Alex Bergantz swept FRC's Hannah Parisio/Jessica Hickel 21-12, 21-14 in the 5's. Feather River's Morgan Avrit/Ellie Newsum outpointed WVC's Sydney Rogers/Ailish O'Deegan 21-17, 21-18 in the 4's, while, in the #6 pairs exhibition match, FRC's Michell Ramirez/Hannah Taylor stopped Monika Martinez Leon/Kate Blackwell 21-19, 21-19.
