State Men's Doubles Champion--Cerritos College players Eshmade and Amadi Kagoma d. Fresno City's Scott Gray and Jakov Tshirkin, 7-6 (5), 6-3.
Eshmade, selected as the ITA Player of the Year, is the first player in nine years to win both the singles and doubles state titles in the same State Tournament. He finished 28-0 this year in singles.
Eshmade is the first South Coast Conference men's state tennis champion in singles since 2009 when Desert's Francisco Stuardo won the title.
It was the only year in which Desert was hosted in the SCC in men's tennis.
The last time a SCC team won the men's doubles state tennis crown was in 1999 when the Marymount pair of Damon Lucht and Boris Turkic captured the title. Marymount left the SCC after 2007.
Cerritos College won its first individual singles and doubles state titles in its tennis history.
